ACEO-X Reminder

Just a little reminder - the deadline for signing up to ACEO-X is this Sunday. Don't miss out on the fun!

Here are the rules again:

1. Create an ORIGINAL ACEO by Friday, July 24th. Be willing to send it world-wide to your partner by Monday July 27th (which means you have the weekend for packaging & mailing off - not that your partner has to have it by this date. When you get your ACEO will depend on the post).

2. The deadline to sign up is Sunday July 12. On this day, I'll randomize the partners & email you the name, shop & mailing address of your partner. I'll also send any preferences your partner may have for their ACEO. Please keep your partner's identity a secret!

3. To sign up: send me your name, Etsy shop name (if you have one), email address & mailing address via Etsy convo or email (ulixis.crafts@gmail.com).

4. You ACEO must be the standard 2.5" x 3.5" size, but otherwise let your creativity run wild. It must be an original art card (no prints!)! Please make sure to include the title of your piece, your name, the date & ACEO-X (version 1.0) on the back of the card (or on an additional piece of paper).

5. Take a picture of the ACEO you made & send it to me by Friday July 24. This way, I can be sure everyone is getting their surprise. I'll blog all these photos so you can all drool & wonder which is going to be yours!

Friday Feature: raquelmasri

I've featured sofiamasri's beautiful ceramic jewelry before - in fact, I have one of her pendants - but it was only recently that I stumbled into her mother's shop, raquelmasri. You can definitely see the influence of mother on daughter. Here are some of my favourites from this dynamic duo.

Item of the day: Barn Swallow Flower Bowl

I love everything about this bowl - the darling shape, the sweet bird (or even better, the bunny), the muted floral pattern, the ecru base, the dotted scallops.... You'll find these themes throughout pinkkiss - definitely not a shop to miss!

Item of the day: Cabana stripe bikini

Since starting the 30 day shred, an intense exercise program, I've been browsing the bathing suits on Etsy - a perfect reward I think. I'm on day 23 and while I don't think I'm ready for a bikini (yet), I do love this striped orange one by Harajuku.Perhaps I will be wearing this by the end of the summer. I just have to keep pushing myself (and quit eating so much chocolate...).

Happy Anniversary!

Pat and I have been together 8 years today. In high school, the honour roll students could take a bus trip to Canada's Wonderland - and on that bus ride at the end of grade 10, I met Pat (he was finishing grade 11). We didn't talk much, but he sat beside me at one point and I just remember glowing in his warmth. Then, later that June, a mutual friend had a birthday party ... Pat almost didn't go, but his younger sister wanted to, so he had to "chaperone". I went with my friend Angie, who had a thing for one of Pat's friend. I remember we talked almost all evening. The next day, Angie called me, telling me Pat liked me & wanted me to call him. Being the silly teenager I was, I told her I liked him too & to tell him to call me.He called that night. We talked for over an hour. We talked everyday for at least an hour (usually more than 2h) all that summer. He asked me to come over to his place July 6th. Our first "date". We watched 2 movies at his parents place - Sleeping Tiger, Hidden Dragon (watched this with his parents) & The Haunting. We watched that one alone & held hands for the first time. I remember he rubbed his thumb against mine over & over again until it hurt (I guess he was a little nervous). I also remember my mom teasing me that night because I kept sniffing my hand - it smelled like Pat.During our phone call the next day, the 7th, he asked me if we were "going out". I said "I don't know".... HA! Great response! Poor guy! He was so uncertain. Next, I think he asked me if I wanted to, but I was so giddy I don't really remember what I said. Either way, it was official.Pat was (is) my first (and only) boy friend. He was also my first kiss. It couldn't have been more perfect: he came over to my parents place for the first time July 10th. We went for a walk to the forest on my parents' property - and kissed there. It was such a perfect & romantic setting. Like in the movies - we were sitting there, on a rock in the shade of a tree, and I just knew he was going to kiss me. So I turned my head and ... the rest is history!

Etsy Spotted!

I was walking home for lunch - I only work a block away - and I spotted a girl with this bag (in blue)! I noticed it because I have a t-shirt from rainbowswirlz & just happened to be browsing through their shop yesterday! I was going to say something, but she had those giant earphones on...

Item of the day: Salt, Sea, Picnics & Sand

Kathryn, the creative force behind botanicalcreations, is a new friend I met through the wonderful MMG BnR. I've ordered a bookmark from her before, and her work is incredible! The pressed flowers just glow behind the lovely glass rounds. I think this pendant will be added to my collection very soon - I love the ethereal look of the Queen Anne's lace.

Check out botanicalcreations & let me know your favourite!
